Hiking Ben Nevis in Scotland
Updated: Feb 13, 2020
I was absolutely scared, but it was so amazing.

While exploring Scotland, we toured Eileen Donan Castle, and then traveled to Isle of Skye to hike the fairy pools. After all day of driving, exploring and hiking we ended up staying at a bed and breakfast.
Without much thought or research about Ben Nevis we heard that it's a really cool hike. So, the next morning we picked up some hiking sticks and set out to hike to the summit.
I can't believe we climbed Ben Nevis.
Ben Nevis is the highest mountain (at 1,345 metres above sea level) in the British Isles. And we completely under estimated what we were getting our self into.
I cried like 3 times in the hike up telling and asking Rob to just be done with this hike and head back. I'm scared of heights and this is no hike for someone who is. I didn't know we would be one wrong step away from seriously getting hurt or possibly plummeting to our death! This mountain was sooo steep! I can't believe I actually made it to the top!! It took us 4 hours to reach the summit, and 3 hours to hike back down. Once we reached the summit, I couldn't move because I was so scare and all I wanted to do was go back down. But the VIEW was AMAZING!! After all, I'm glade we did it and that I'm now safe back at the bottom. #HardestThingIEverDone #IHikedBenNevis
